چکیده

We consider the asymmetric six-vertex model, widely used to describe the equilibrium shape of crystals, and the relevant asymmetric X X Z chain. By means of the Bethe-ansatz solution we determine the free energy singularity, as function of the external field, at two special points on the phase boundary. We confirm the exponent 3 (checked experimentally), as the antiferroelectric ordered phase is reached from the incommensurate phase normally to this boundary, and we determine a new singularity along the tangential direction. Both singularities describe the rounding off of the crystal near a facet. At this point the hole excitations of the spin chain show dispersion relations A E ~ ( A P ) I / 2 at small momenta, leading to a finite-size scaling AE ~ N -~/2 for the |ow-lying excited states, N being the chain size. We discuss the nature of the phase transition and the behavior of arrow-arrow correlation lengths in the ordered phase. @ 1997 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. The free energy singularity of the asymmetric 6–vertex model and the excitations of the asymmetric XXZ chain

We consider the asymmetric six–vertex model, i.e. the symmetric six–vertex model in an external field with both horizontal and vertical components, and the relevant asymmetric XXZ chain. The model is widely used to describe the equilibrium shape of a crystal. By means of the Bethe Ansatz solution we determine the exact free energy singularity, as function of both components of the field, at two...

Phase diagram of the non-hermitean asymmetric XXZ spin chain

The low-lying excitations of the asymmetric XXZ spin chain are derived explicitly in the antiferromagnetic regime through the Bethe Ansatz. It is found that a massless and conformal invariant phase with central charge c = 1 is separated from a massive phase by a line on which the low-lying excitations surprisingly scale with the lattice length as ∆E ∼ N 1 2 . The mass gap vanishes with an expon...

Direction dependent free energy singularity of the asymmetric six-vertex model

The transition from the ordered commensurate phase to the incommensurate gaussian phase of the antiferroelectric asymmetric six-vertex model is investigated by keeping the temperature constant below the roughening point and varying the external fields (h, v). In the (h, v) plane, the phase boundary is approached along straight lines δv = kδh, where (δh, δv) measures the displacement from the ph...

Analytical Investigation of Forced Convection in Thermally Developed Region of a Channel Partially Filled with an Asymmetric Porous Material- LTNE Model

In present work forced convection flow in a channel partly filled with a porous media under asymmetric heat flux boundary condition has been investigated. The porous material is distributed on the one wall. Darcy–Brinkman and LTNE model have been assumed in order to solve momentum and energy equations, respectively. Fully developed conditions are considered in order to solve velocity and the te...

The Asymmetric Effects of Energy Consumption on Growth of Iran's Agricultural Sector Using Non-Linear Extended Lag Self-Regression (NARDL)

Energy is one of the factors used in most economic activities. The economic security of most countries depends on secure access to energy. Therefore, the production and consumption of energy and its optimal use are of particular importance. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the framework of nonlinear self-regressi...
